Walter's really trying to not think about... much of anything, really, least of all being the awkwardness of the situation. He settles into his chair and prepares for the pain of the cutting, which may or may not be particularly drawn out, he doesn't know just yet. He'll be fine either way. Pain's an old friend.
He nods at Caro's question. It's a pretty damn good suggestion, really. Especially since she'll be carving it into his back with a knife. "Sure. Might as well."
